According to Bersin & Associates research, developing talent was the biggest challenge, cited by 62% of organization. More and more organizations today understand that employees’ top job satisfier often is career development. Employees want to be challenged and developed. If they are not, they often become less productive or contemplate leaving the organization. This mindset is especially true for highly talented professionals. To proactively address this issue, organizations are placing talent development as a very high priority.
The LearnCenter® collects and stores talent data about users based on completion and progress of items in the LearnCenter. Skill Score is an easily recognizable score which represents a user’s proficiency for skills that are mapped to a job. Users can be ranked or compared against each other with similar units of measure.
Skill Score Benefits
- Skill Score is a personal tracking and development score that determines an individual’s proficiency for Skills that are mapped to a Job Profile. Think of it as a credit score for your career development. Complex algorithms calculate weighted averages for courses completed, skills attained and on-the-job experience.
- Best-in-Class organizations recognize the strategic importance of organizational learning and development, and integrate these efforts into pre- and post-hire talent management elements. Research indicates that 79% of Best-in-Class organizations integrate learning and development with employee performance management.
- Skill Score users can assign a range to any job profile, both minimum and maximum, based on the number of skills mapped to a particular job profile. The system will calculate the Skill Score for each user that is evaluated for the job profile.
- Skill Score will enhance best match reporting in an organization by showing the Best Match Score (LearnCenter), if a learner took initiative to self-map to a job profile (MyProfile), and their Skill Score. Managers can now have a full view of their top performers to aid in mission critical decisions.
- Learners can easily view their Skill Score on any page of the LearnCenter through the Job Profiles Dynamic Object Tag. Skill Score is tightly integrated into the flexible design and flexibility of the Platform.

Determining Skill Score
The Skill Score will be added for each job profile. Based on the number of skills mapped to the job profile, the system will calculate the Skill Score for each user that is evaluated for the job profile. Each skill takes the equal weighting while calculating the Skill Score against a job profile.
